Dr. Albert G. Singh, M.D.

Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering
Board-Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Fellowship Trained Interventional Spine

Dr. Singh is an alumni of Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on biomedical engineering. After obtaining his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, he went on to complete his internship, physical medicine and rehabilitation residency, and interventional spine & pain medicine fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. His published work includes research articles and textbook chapters on a wide variety of topics, such as biomedical engineering, sports medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, and pain medicine. Dr. Singh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, with specialty training in Interventional Spine & Pain Medicine. Dr. Singh’s special clinical interests include musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, and implantable therapies for pain, such as spinal cord stimulation.

In 2017, Dr. Singh was recognized as a Top Doctor by his peers.

Dr. Singh’s Research & Publications:

  1. RETROSPECTIVE STUDY OF THE OCCURRENCE OF ADVERSE EVENTS FOLLOWING LUMBAR PUNCTURE FOR INTRATHECAL BACLOFEN TRIAL Investigator 2011.  Describe short term complications associated with inrathecal baclofen trials. Retrospectively examine the occurrence of adverse events reported by patients undergoing an intrathecal baclofen trial at the Indiana University Pain Medicine Center.

  2. ELECTROTACTILE STIMULATION OF THE TONGUE TO IMPROVE GAIT & BALANCE DYSFUNCTION SECONDARY TO CEREBROVASCULAR ACCIDENT Investigator 2008.  Utilizing a micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) accelerometer to sense head position in real-time, a small pattern of stimulation was generated on the tongue to improve postural stability and balance in subjects suffering from stroke.

  3. Lychevski, Sergey; Singh, Albert G.; “Noise Analysis & Vibroacoustic Control of Minimotors,” Journal of Acoustics, August, 2001.

  4. SHOCK WAVE LITHOTRIPSY Sub-Investigator 2001.  Investigated the acoustical effects of shock wave lithotripsy with focus on cavitation of vapor bubbles.

  5. NOISE ANALYSIS Sub-Investigator 2001.  Noise spectra of motors was analyzed using the Fast Fourier Transform.

  6. NEURONS OF mNTS Sub-Investigator 1999.  Investigated neurons within the medial nucleus of the solitary tract using a combination of experimental methods and lumped membrane models.

  7. PARKINSONIAN TREMOR Sub-Investigator 1999.  Measurements of biological motor activity using actigraph technology
